HONGKONG. 17th. May, 1916,
I have the honour to forward the enclosed copy
of a letter addressed to this Government by the Hongkong Mercantile Company to the effect that they are unable to import lead from the United Kingdom, whereas two other firms in the Colony are apparently
able to get the necessary permits.
2.
Enquiry made locally confirms the statement that
the two firms mentioned are selling lead for delivery from London.
